With rising gas prices, it's no surprise that families in our community are looking to the Salem-Keizer Transit and our Cherriots bus system for transportation. This year alone, ridership has increased by nearly 10% - over 40,000 riders more per month.

The Salem-Keizer Transit District provides access and opportunity to over 5 million riders each year - contributing nearly $4 million into our economy, providing good jobs, and providing our community access to all the things and places our families rely on. A strong transit system in Salem-Keizer means a strong economy and benefits for all of us.

Our community's transit system faces two serious problems - the rising cost of gas and services for seniors and people with disabilities through CherryLift. Saturday bus service and key routes that are already overcrowded are facing cuts. Fortunately we have a chance this November to do something about it by voting YES on Measure 24-247.

Measure 24-247 will provide increased frequency to high demand bus routes and prevent cuts to existing service. Saturday service will be protected with Measure 24-247. Passing Measure 24-247 will also help our community transit system prepare for future economic downturns and rising cost of gas.

Our transit system is the backbone of our community and Measure 24-247 will benefit every neighborhood. Please vote yes on Salem-Keizer Transit Measure 24-247 and return your ballot by November 4th.
